1. Cratering Problem
Phenomenon: Circular, sunken pits appear on the coating surface.

(1) Oil, sweat, or insufficient degreasing remains on the workpiece surface.
(2) The compressed air contains oil or moisture.
(3) The powder has absorbed moisture or contains incompatible impurities, such as silicone.
Solutions:
(1) Strengthen the degreasing process during pretreatment, and operators should wear clean gloves.
(2) Install an oil-water separator in the compressed air line and regularly drain water and contaminants.
(3) Store the powder in a cool and dry environment (temperature <27°C, humidity <60%), and replace powder that has absorbed moisture or been contaminated.
2. Orange Peel Problem
Phenomenon: The coating surface presents fine uneven textures similar to the surface of an orange peel.
Main Causes:
(1) The curing temperature is too low or the curing time is insufficient, resulting in inadequate melting and leveling.
(2) The powder particle size is too coarse, resulting in poor leveling.
(3) The coating thickness is too thick or too thin.
Solutions:
(1) Check the baking oven temperature curve to ensure that the recommended curing conditions are achieved (typically 180-200°C/10-20 min), and ensure sufficient melting and leveling time.
(2) Contact the powder coating supplier to adjust the powder particle size distribution.

3. Poor Adhesion Problem
Phenomenon: The coating peels off in large areas during cross-cut or impact testing, or the coating lifts after external impact.

(2) Pass the powder through an 80-120 mesh vibrating sieve before use, and replace batches containing impurities.
(3) Recovered powder must be screened before use and mixed with new powder at a ratio of ≤30%.
5. Color/Gloss Deviation Problem
Phenomenon: The actual sprayed product has an obvious color difference from the standard color panel, or the gloss does not meet the requirements.
Main Causes:
(1) Excessive fluctuations in curing temperature affect pigment development and gloss.
(2) Uneven coating thickness results in differences in hiding power and appearance.
(3) There are color differences between different batches of powder, or the proportion of recovered powder is not properly controlled.
Solutions:
(1) Strictly control oven temperature stability, regularly calibrate the oven temperature testing instrument, and avoid significant temperature fluctuations.
(2) Optimize spraying parameters to ensure uniform and consistent film thickness across all parts of the workpiece.
(3) Purchase powder from the same batch for large-volume production and strictly control the proportion of recovered powder; perform a sample panel color comparison and confirmation before formal production.
